I really liked this one. King has combined the elements of drama, comedy and horror. This guy has a way of describing life and situations that i have to admire. Up to you guys, your ratings please.

I'm actually 400 pages into it as I type this. This is the first King novel I've read in nearly 15 years. I must say, it started slow for me. All of the specialized language King used to show the relationship between Scott and Lisey was just too confusing in the first 100 pages. After I got over that, I felt it was a bit slow until I hit 200 pages. Now I'm hooked. I hope it stays strong. If it does, I'll place it with my other favorite King story, The Stand, and I won't wait 15 years to read another King novel.

I really liked it a lot. I thought it was the best of his most recent books. I was kept interested throughout and enjoyed the story from the female point of view. I enjoyed the love story part of it and the sweetness that created as well as the spookiness of the parallel universe. I also enjoyed the interaction between the sisters and the humorous scenes. It did start a little slow for me but after about the first 50 pages, I was so into it, I had trouble putting it down. Very very good. Loved it. I give it an A. :)

I stopped reading Stephen King after The Stand. I think his best works are that, The Shining, and the novella;Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

I liked it, I liked the female protagonist, I liked the depiction of a happy marriage.

I would have liked more explanation of what was going on - who were the draped figures? But other than that, I'd give it two thumbs up.

It was okay. Not my favorite by far (I loved The Dark Tower series and Salem's Lot), but worth reading. It did start very slowly and it was kinda hard to get into, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
