I have been watching disney channel and on 365 been talking about the High School Musical on tour and shows the crew but never see Zac. He is not longer mentioned when anything comes up about High School Musical. Where did he go and why is he not mentioned anymore with the HSM crew? Last time I saw him was in the summertime games.

Zac was filming Hairspray in Toronto when the tour began (I think they have some reshoots scheduled, but I don't know if it's with him), but it was a mutual understanding he would not tour. Zac can sing...remember-Hairspray is a musical, so hence, he can sing-but Zac is a baritone and the role of Troy was written to a Tenor. Rather than not cast him, his voice is melded with Drew Seeley's on the soundtrack. Zac sings the first few lines in Breaking Free and Start of Something New, the rest mainly is Drew. So, it made more sense for Drew to do the tour. At least Drew now gets some credit for his role in making the movie. But, Zac will be in the sequel and he has been with the cast for certain events. He did the start of their press tour in the UK and he attended some awards shows with the rest. Hope that helped!

Whats happening is that Zacs doing a movie right now and he cant really get to all those press events and concerts. Its really hard for him to make it to all those things because he has the movie Hairspray right now. I know him and dont worry hes shooting High School Musical 2 right now.

they got a replacement for zac but only for the tour since zac is doing the Broadway show called hairspray

I know he is going to be in the movie "Hairspray", and that's why he died his hair. He might just be busy shooting the movie to go on tour, but I bet he will be in HSM 2. Like Raven didn't go on tour with the Cheetah Girls, but she was in the movie.

I dont know what happened to him. I watch Disney too and love HSM I was a very good movie. OO and Winter_Love, you need to get an attitude ajustment and need to stop being so rude!

i don't care. he's UGLY, CANNNNNNOOOTT sing and is a really bad actor. besides, hsm isn't THAT great of a movie. focus on something other than zac and then you won't worry as much.

I have that same question and I have no clue what happened to Zac Efron..........I know he died his hair black and it looks really ugly!! Hope this helped!
