How much did natural birth and or cesaerian cost you?

I actually have the papers the billing office gave me at my first prenantal appt.... For natural it will cost around 2500.... for c-section it will be more around 4500 and if you have a boy... if you should decide to get him circumsized, that by itself will cost about 500 dollars... PS... those prices are without insurance.. with insurance, most the time you are responsible for the first 1000 dollars, then they will pay for 80% of the remaining balance.

Easy, just call the hospital that you want to have the baby at. Ask who to speak to about costs. Each hospital has it's own pricing method. Usually you'll have something like $2,300.00+ for delivery, natural birth minus what your insurance will pay; mine included the prenatal visits all except the initial one which was $110.00. You will also have room and board hospital fees maybe $400+ per night. Then you will also have additional fees for epidural and anesthesia or cesarean. You also have to consider the baby's circumcision or not and his check up while in the hospital. These all cost you. You'll need to know what percent your insurance pays and what your cost is. You also want to know "in-network and out-of-network costs". Good luck.

Natural birth billed at over $9000. After the insurance agency got the price down, ...and we paid $2000 deductible & 30% we ended up paying around $3000

Depending upon were you live. In NC my copay for a vaginal delivery is $600 and that is twenty percent of the full price. With my first daughter I had a c-section and it was roughly $2000-$3000 more then a vaginal delivery.

My natural birth (and hospital stay) was just under 10k. I would think a c-section would be higher, just because the procedure is more complex, requires more staff, etc.

Also, not sure if it matters, but I had my baby in Oregon. Maybe location makes a difference on the cost?

And.....blue cross paid 100%.

my son was born natural, with no complications except i needed some sort of anitbiotic right during birth, and the cost was about $10,000, though i was on state assistance, so it didn't cost me anything out of pocket. My sister had C section and she had preeclampsia and it cost her $26,000. Natural is always cheaper because they don't need anesthetic and sewing and all of that painfulness. Plus you'll heal quicker with natural birth, and i do recommend an epidural.

Wow it actually costs you to give birth to a baby? In australia it's free unless you have private health cover. Didn't cost me a thing to have my two year old son naturally as it was in a public hospital.

I had a c-sec. almost 2 years ago, and it cost $26,000. Thank god for medicaid!

Oh, and this hospital is about $1500 a night, not $400. There is a big difference between hospitals, definately call and check it out.

Hi, I just had my 2nd baby by c-section 3wks ago and I recieved the statement. My insurance was billed $8,344.61!!!! Then I recieved another for my daughter totaling $1,244.70. It is my understanding that a vaginal is much cheaper b/c it requires less people involved, equipment and medication.

my c-section costed over 22000 dollars american that includes my sons bills i didnt have to pay one cent gotta love tricareprime. go natural or vaginal birth dont have a c- section unless you really need one. no need having surgery if you dont need it
