I thought Urlacher finished 4th overall for D player of the year. Maybe I heard wrong.
First things first. Trash talk Da Bears all you want, but, they will persevere, conquer and dominate defensively. Tank Johnson, Adawayle Ogunleye, Mark Anderson, Alex Brown, Lance Briggs, "Big" Urlacher, Hunter Hillenmeyer, Brendon Ayanbadejo, Leon Joe, Charles Tillman, Ricky Manning Jr., Alfonso Boone, Antonio Garay, Ian Scott, Cris Harris, Daniel Manning, Nathan Vasher, Devin "The Human Highlight Reel" Hester, Dante Wesley and Cameron Worrell have got it done thus far, watch 'em do it again!
As far as the respect factor goes, you would think we'd earned it already. But there are "haters" everywhere you look.
People have said since week 3 that the Bears were lucky and not for real, well write it down, read it and weep all you nay-sayers, Da Bears will prove their worth and that their stellar defense IS the real deal!
If the right Grossman shows up, this could easily be a lop-sided
victory for the Monsters of the Midway!
But,....................I didn't come to start no trouble, ..............I just came to do the SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE!!!

I would be terrified as a Bears fan after Sexy Rexy came out and said he didn't try in Week 17 since it was New Year's Eve and it didn't matter. Not a good sign at all. This is not a player that can turn it on like a switch. He has been a nightmare in the second half, and now he quits on his team to end the year. And before you say that doesn't matter, what if he nonchalantly flipped a lazy pass over the middle that Muhammed or Berrian went all out to catch, only to get blindsided and placed on the IR. Insanely stupid and immature.
Other than Trent Dilfer with the Ravens a few years back (who's D was top 5 all time), name a team that won the Super Bowl with a bad QB and an average running game. (And don't say Brad Johnson. He is deceptively good.) History is stacked against them.
Having said all that, the Bears picked the right year to be one of the worst 13-3 teams ever. The NFC sucks somethin' awful. This game against Seattle is going to be ugly, the Bears' specialty. After that, we'll see . . .

I agree that Urlacher and the rest of the D are the s**t, but you guys are now hugely depleted at DT going up against last year's MVP this week. If you do get through, you will be going up against Westbrook or McAllister and Bush, you need DT's to stop all four. Also, your offense isn't that great. They have the ability to points on the board because your D gets off the field so quickly that the other team's D is on there all the time and get tired. Your WR's are good, at best. Your O-line is good, but inconsistent. Your RB's are good, but just not producing top tier type stuff. And I don't even need to mention your QB.
Urlacher was deserving of some of the defensive votes, and it is a travesty that he didn't get any mention and Shawn "they must've messed up my vitamins at the plant" got votes.

The Bears D has carried the team all year, and if they want to make it to the Super Bowl, the Defense is going to have to carry the load. Rex has said that he doesn't maintain his focus (even for a meaningless game, if you play, you play to win) and that's trouble. As for the Player-Of-the-Year (Defensive), don't sweat it. I'd rather have a great defensive unit than a single good player.

That's exactly why Urlacher has been so awesome he's been playing with a huge chip on his shoulder. All he's been doing is going about his business knocking the crap out of opposing offenses all year. The mans a flat out STUD. That whole defense has got the same chip, I mean block on there shoulder their gonna kick *** you watch. It's that blue collar mentality, add the block and you better get the F out of our way. GO BEARS!!

No, because until their defense shows up in the playoffs, they will continue to get no respect. Yes I am a bears fan, but they need to start winning in the playoffs and not just the regular season.

You can't argue with the D giving up 27,31,21, and 26 points the past 4 weeks. And that was to St. Louis, Tampa, Detroit, and Green Bay. It doesn't matter what they did the first half of the season. It matters what they're doing right now.
And what they're doing right now is giving up tons of points to bad teams.
And Urlacher only plays well when he has stud DTs in front of him.
Can you say "One and done"?

Hey if you gonna mess with the Bears Defense , you gonna have to mess with me and Chicago. And we gonna win it without our key defensive players.
