go to a hire shop and ask for a roofers ladder you then can use a normal ladder to get to the roof then the roofing ladder can be pushed on its wheels up the pitch and the hook on the top of it will go over the ridge tile and secure in place so you can then climb up to required position, just make sure the ladder you use to reach the lower part of the roof is at least a metre higher than where you wanna climb onto as it is much safer and makes getting up and down hope this helps you.

If the roof is to steep to walk on you can throw a rope over the entire house and secure the ends on a tree or auto. this will give you something to hold on so you can stay on the roof safely. BE CAREFUL

by the time you hire a ladder and a roof ladder it would be nearly as dear as hiring a prof. to do the job as you can only hire laders for a day also you have the trouble of getting them home and taking them back if you are not used to roof work then my best advice is get a pro to do it

Long rope tied to the body and something on the ground on the other side(car?) You got to do some mountain climbing to do this job. And you got to carry other lines which are tied to the items you need and once up there, pull them up as you need them.

Pay an expert to do it as they will also tune in the ariel and channels for you. They don't charge an awful lot but you can get quotes first, and it's safer for you.

Use a ladder, OSHA would say to anchor yourself as well, but I usually just use a ladder

Its not worth risking your life, pay someone to do it.
You need a ladder, and a roof ladder. And someone to hold the ladder.
But you not used to it, so get someone else to do it.
