I know that you should go to a shop that specializes in german work when you have work done on the engine. But does that same logic apply to brakework? I have disc brakes.

Any good mechanic will be able to do any job on any car. All they need to have is information on that vehicle or system. Brakes are generally not a complicated issue, so most places can do them.

Yes, you should do that. It's a German car that will need German parts that you'll only be able to find at a German retailer. The Japanese cars are a lot easier to fix since their parts are so cheap. http://autoprostop.ca

On my Mercedes cars (I've owned 3), I've always done my own brake work. It's no different from any other car.

almost all disc brakes are the same so if you can do a chevy you can do a volkswagon

no..... most repair centers can change and repair your brake system
