Plenty of people have fallen into volcanic vents and fissures. Also thermal springs (like yellowstone park) have swallowed a few unwary tourists.

on land it is quicksand and sink holes

In Florida we have sink holes that swallow cars and houses. sink holes are geological.

the bottom part of the ocean, i think its called like the coral reef or something like that, anyway, once you pass a certian point, the pressure sucks you down and you drown. :-(
