Judging by your title, your probably using stool softners for entertainment purposes rather than medicinal purposes. To this I say, they do both but the effects will wear down over extensive use. So..... have fun but not too much fun.
PS. IM me sometime. I'm lonely

stool softners draw fluid into your intestinal track to soften the stool. So if you normally have very hard, dry stools and get constipated, stool softners will help you go by making your stool more passable. So, they help you go and soften the blow.

They help minimize constipation, so they help you evacuate your bowels (or help you go).
"Soften the blow" is not the way I'd describe it.

It is not a laxative. it just makes your poo softer so it is easier to pass. They gave me some after my kidney surgery. I wish they let me keep the painkillers too.
