I am a leasing agent and I have to do market surveys, well I have some apartments do not want to give out information such as : how many apartments they have total what the break down is etc.... anyone have any unique ways of getting this info out of snooty properties besides calling and acting like a person looking because the questions I ask has nothing to do with someone just looking, such as occupancy.

Place ads in colleges, daily paper, laundry rooms, and market yourself

You could tell them you're a college student doing a paper on housing trends for some class (make one up, like they'd know), people living in apartments vs homes, and you need exact info on it so you can figure out what the ratio of apartment dwellers vs home owners is.

They may still blow you off but if you make it sound like you think apartments are the way to go over home ownership because of all the great amenities (pool, laundry facilities) and the onsite maintenance, and that you are writing your paper to show that more and more people are electing to live in apts over homes, it might soften 'em up.

That's the best I could come up with.

All that information is available at the local property tax office for free. But unless they have it online you have to go down there.

All you need is the address of the property. They keep the records of how many units and such because they are taxed on it.
