I get pains like this all the time, i think it's ligament pains to be honest. It's definitly not labour though. You're going to be watching for any pain that comes rhymicly... back or front. Once these pains reach 5 mins apart head on down to your maternity ward.

Sounds like prelabour contractions, the extra you might have now, it seems that the fewer you are going to want for the duration of labour. Below is my notes from the delivery publication via Sears and Sear. Difference among prelabour contractions and labour contractions Labour Contractions; •Follow a sample, fitting a growing number of consistent, more potent and extra common •May believe like robust menses, low backache that radiates forwards to stomach and thighs •Intensifies with running •Don’t quit whilst you lie down or difference endeavor •Internal examination indicates cervix is softening, thinning or effacing and dilating progresses •Usually has a ‘exhibit’ of pinkish mucus Prelabour Contractions; •Irregular, don’t emerge as more potent, longer and extra common •May now not be uncomfortable or best mildly in entrance and groin •Uterus balls up and feels rough to difficult •Not transformed or they depart with running •Stop relatively whilst you're mendacity down or replacing positions. •Decrease or disappear whilst taking sizzling tub or bathe •Some effacement and mild dilation, but no massive difference from examination to examination •Usually no exhibit or there’s a brownish mucus -If not sure time contractions for one hour. As a average consultant 6 or extra contractions inside the hours and they're lasting no less than 30 seconds and are expand in depth, probabilities are well you're in labour. -Many ladies enjoy pouts of contractions (two-4hours) within the night time which can be uncomfortable however pitter out.

You are probably having early contraction pains or they could be early non active labor pains. That's what happened to me. I was in labor for 36 hours till I was induced. Good luck. and Congrats!

If he inducing you because of high BP or toxemia or preclamsia? Sometimes when you have those issues sharp long lasting pains in the belly can be a sign of trouble.
Otherwise, if it comes and goes, or just pulls, i'd bet its just more stretching.

I would suggest that you call your doctor/nurse and ask them actually........chances are they're just "braxton hicks" contractions which are like practice ones for your uterus...but if they really hurt it could always be the real deal....
first pregnancy? congratulations, and best of luck with that baby!
