On a Mac, "right click" doesn't exist, instead you hold down the apple-key when you click, and it does the same thing as right-click.
You can also buy a two-button mouse and right-click with it. Again, with a one-button Mac mouse, you must hold down the apple-key when clicking instead, and you'll get everything you would get with right-click.
It'll bring up a menu that includes "Delete" or "Move to Trash."

first of all, TYF is a moron, because if she knew Macs so well, she would hold the ctrl button then click on whatever the item was to right click...idiot, Macs have right click, god forbid anyone should just read the hotkey commands or anything...the other thing is to click the item, hit the apple button and delete, and then hit apple shift and delete at the same time to empty your trash bin...as far as regular PCs go, they are trash =)

Get a regular PC type mouse and you'll be able to do all the right click stuff on your Mac. It's just called "Move to trash" instead of delete.
