I have talked with my parents so many times about getting a hamster, but they refuse! They think it's a dirty pet, that it smells and they believe I'm not going to take care of it! I've proved them that I am responsible enough for another pet,I have the money to buy one but still, nothing! What should I do???I've tried to show them the good side of hamsters and stuff...I've tried almost everything! Please,Please help!

Ps:Extra chores don't work...Damnit!

Hamsters are definitely far from dirty, and I would consider them much less messy than any breed of bird. Hamsters clean themselves DAILY, and if you ever pick up a hamster you will find that they are basically odorless to the human nose.

The only smells you may find will come from the cage itself, such as their droppings or urine. But the bedding that you will need for your hamster will easily absorb any smells that comes from your hamster living in his cage. Then just clean his or her cage once or twice a week and you won't have any problems. PLUS you can even use a potty training kit which worked for all three of my hamsters. They won't use it all of the time, but this will also significantly reduce any odors caused by their excrement.

Hopefully if you provide this type of info to your parents, PLUS the fact that they are very loving and playful animals, your parents may reconsider. I hope this helps!

Well Sophie, I know that Parrots can get rather smelly if they are not cleaned up after so I doubt you would have any trouble with a hamster! Start asking them for a Great Dane and then let them talk you down to a hamster!!

nicely, maximum probably the cat is basically no longer waiting to get to the hamster, yet nonetheless, ust a be conscious- BE CAREFULL! If the cat is youthful, or a kitten, then she/he can advance to befriend the hamster. also, if it truly is continuously in a ball or cage, how can it? also, say that the hamster would have type of it truly is own targeted room; a relax room, your room, some the position the position the cat often doesn't go.

Just set you're parents down and talk to them, and
mention how well you are with you're parrot, let them
know how you are willing to do anything for it.
Or you could get it anyway, and hide it for A week or so,
and then show youre parents how well you kept up with
the hamster, they'll get mad at you for hiding it, but the'll
see that you did take care of it well.

They are pretty inexpenssive pets and if you keep the cage clean they do NOT smell and are NOT dirty. The main problem you will have is if they get out you wll have a hard time finding them again, LOL!! But they are clean pets, much like a tiny vegetarian cat--they spend hours grooming themselves. I used to have one that went places with me in my pocket... he was so cool! lol

they don't stink unless, you don't clean up after them, they are sweet and curious, cheap compared to say a cat or dog. easily housed shop at petsmart or petco, get all you need there. maybe you should ask for a snake or rat, they may change their mind, or offer to give it away at the first screw-up.
