So a while back I had accidently inserted my brother's ipod (video) into my computer and it automatically synced all his material into my ipod. I somehow found about 1/3 of my things, but lost the rest. Then, I tried purchasing songs I had previously bought but lost and it says "you have already purchased this, would you like to purchase it again?"...so does that mean those songs could still be on my computer somewhere? If so, where should I look to find all my lost things?

Go to your My Computer, My Documents, My Music, ITunes, ITunes Music and drag all of those files into your ITunes.

If you're using a PC all the music files you load into itunes that were previously on your computer should be backed up in a file. However, i'm almost positive that if you bought a song on itunes, theres no getting it back.

There might be a chance that the songs are still in your computer....try looking in "PURCHASED" on your iTunes the songs might still be there. if not see if you can re-import the songs by going to "my music" in the import window...if the songs are still in your computer theyd probably be there. but if your willing to re-buy all the songs you lost then when that window comes up (the one where it says that you've already purchased it) then just click yes. but i think the chances are good that they're still in your computer. also CHECK IN YOUR BROTHERS IPOD....your songs might have transferred in there. good luck. email me if you have any questions just_gemini91@yahoo.com

Yes they are in ur library. Also check on the advanced menu for already bought songs and it will give u songs u bought again.

go into ur music folder in ur finder
click iTunes
iTunes music
&look for what u lost. if its still there, drag it onto the iTunes icon and enjoy
and if not, try ur purchased smart playlist

call 1800MYAPPLE and they will redirect you to the ipod phone line. call that number and you need to know your IPOD I.D. thing which you can find in the Settings-About menu on your ipod. They have helped me a bunch of times with my questions and they are really fast and friendly.

I think Johnny said it best, they're in your iTunes folder (but not your library). Look there and you'll find them!
