Your family name will be translated phoenitaclly. Example, if your name is Smith, it will be pronounces Sumisu スミス、 Non Japanese who marry Japanese and obtain Japanese citizenship are required to either adopt kanji that has pronuncuations similar to their family name or assume their spouse's family name.

I think http://japanesetranslator.co.uk/your-name-in-japanese/ is a good place to go. It's accurate a good portion of the time so long as it's not a weird name. However, people here (if they know how it's said) can do it for you too.

You could use Katakana to write your name fonetically, but if you name has a meaninig (for example, Rose) you could use a Kanzi.
