In my school, you have 2 days to write your midterm essay. The first day to do your prewrite (when you can use your notes) and the second day to do the essay, where you can only use the prewrite and no notes at all.

The second day is tomorrow. Do you suggest that I write out my essay now to practice, or is that just a waste of time?

We are not allowed to bring in anything that we write at home. We're only allowed to use the prewrite we wrote in class today. So I can't write an outline or anything at home and use it tomorrow

I think its a waste of time also, but what i would do is make an outline to organize your thoughts. That way you dont have to waste time tomorrow in class getting everything in order. It will also help you see if you are missing any info that you might need.

You should totally write it out now to practice, especially if there is a time limit. That way you know exactly what you want to say and how you want to say it. You'll be able to fix any issues now when there is plenty of time. Then tomorrow you can spend your energy on making it look good (grammar, spelling, etc).
