my school self confidence and being open = POPULAR

It's better to be true to yourself and your convictions rather than to discard them for popularity.

Popularity is fleeting - the flavor of the moment. Trends tend to change quicker than the weather. Being what you are doesn't diminish your worth by even one iota, but many have fallen into ruin by "running with the crowd."

Stick up for yourself, be proud of yourself for your own accomplishments (sounds like you've had quite a few already!) and pay less attention to what others think you should be. You'll be fine.

By seeing the bigger picture! The whole 'popular'/'geek' attitude is nothing like real world. Likelyhood is that those with that kind of attitude will be working in McDonalds for the rest of their life, it doesn't matter whether you are clever or not, all that matters is your attitude. I think the best way to boost your confidence is to concentrate on your own happiness, hang around with friends that make you happy and don't be caught up in whether you are 'popular' or not, that attitude will be gone out the window as soon as you enter the real world.

Stop caring. that is the best way to feel good about yourself. I am not the cutest person in the world, and I am not the best at anything but I still love myself(not in a narcicistic way) because it doesn't matter what other people say, not really anyway, in the eternal scheme of things the only thing that matters is that you know that your heavenly father loves and values you.

think about what u find cool in certain people first...
like...think what people think is totally cool...
obviously...looking good is absolutely great!!!
if u wanna be more popular...i think that a great approach would be similar to mine which is where...i look good;Daajajaja...dress real well...am a great guitarist...love to jam with others...like comic books and videogames and action figures and stuff ajajaja....like ta party...but maintain my own morals(such as...i refuse to kiss anyone who i am not dating etc)and stick to ur own morals and intuition...play sports...i think a good approach...yeahhhh meee yi yee ajajaj...is to be open to new experiences, show ur friends how u respect them...like give them some candies or just tell them how much u respect them...if u r a hott girl who likes led zepplin, action films, comics, dirty jokes or somethin...lots of guys will probably find that really hottt!!!...and if u rn't a slut and make sure u show that u rn't a slut then gurls will respect u too and start to introduce themselves to u and soon enough...u'll be right on ur way
ajajaja
good luck

I think the best thing to do would find somemthing-just one thing- that you're really good at and keep telling yourself how good you are. Get to your subconcious. My school can be the same, and I know that all the "be yourself" and "popularity is fleeting" is true and it shouldn't matter-but you think it matters, so just get to your subconcious.

I don't think you can. I tried, and I ended up switching schools because of it. Keep trying and if it doesn't work, move schools.
