There is always that risk that an abortion can mess up your chances. I also read yesterday that it can cause an incompetent cervix and make it harder for you to carry a baby if you do get pregnant. Those are all slight chances though. Sometimes it just take longer for some to get pregnant. It will normally take healthy couples 6 months to a year to conceive. I dont believe in abortions, but dont beat yourself up over it either. Im sure you are fine and its not your fault. So just keep trying and if it takes you a little longer than a year of trying then go to a doctor and get checked out and maybe they can help you with any problems that are causing it. Good Luck.

If the abortion was done in a sterile and professional environment the chances are pretty good you can and will conceive again. Less than 1% of those that do obtain an abortion will have problems. It's mostly a myth perpetrated by those that don't agree with abortions that usually claim you will have trouble with conception in the future.

Best of luck to you, and keep at it!

It is a possibility, especially if the abortion is done by a clinic, instead of real doctors.

Although 7 month is not that long. If you are concerned, go see a fertility doctor or OBgyn to rule out any problems.

I wouldn't say one would affect it seriously but it can because no matter what there will be slight damage done to the area when a abortion is done. I would say if you had a couple then it could for sure hurt your chances but some couples can take longer to conceive

REMEMBER It could also be something going on with HIM

It may depending on how competent the doctor was who performed it. Never hurts to get looked at by your gyno anyways. You may just be so worried about not being able to get pregnant that your not letting your body do what you want it to. Relax, see a doctor, and good luck on trying (and have fun!!).

It's definately a possibility but really something you should speak to a doctor about. Go to Planned Parenthood or a free clinic and they can give you a physical and medical advice very inexpensively.

Uterine scaring, damage to the lining to the uterus, scar tissue forming on the cervix, damage to the cervix... All these things can and do happen from abortions. Not always, but it sure is fitting when it does.

You might want to get checked out. In some cases medication and special care can be given to make sure you can carry a baby to term.
