The bill without my insurance paying their portion was $3000. That is for an uncomplicated, vaginal delivery. I did have to pay a little extra for the extra things they had me on during labor (for blood pressure.) My insurance covered all but about $300. Hope that helps.

We have 80/20 insurance, too, but we have to meet 100% of a deductible before we get to pay 20%. Mine ended up being about $400 to my doctor and about $900 to the hospital. I had to pay $150 for my epidural. I had a very short, normal labor and delivery and we were sent home 2 days later. Hope that helps. You can also ask your doctor's billing rep what the usual amount is - I'm sure they could tell you. We are due in July and my husband set up a healthcare flexible spending account so we don't have to worry about coming up with the extra money this time. Good luck! =)

I got a statment showing that a normal vaginal delivery was over $6,000!!! And that didn't include all the doctor appointments! Thankfully insurance covered all but the inital $10 copayment at the very begining.
It sucks that you start mounting a debt from the moment you come out of the womb now a days.

Well the bill after dilevery will be different from State to State. There could be some people who give a huge price because their child spent time in NICU or because you had a C - Section and what not. I didn't pay a thing Thanks to Tri - Care!

I paid $75 for both my girls after insurance worked their magic. Without insurance, my very complicated first delivery of 18 hours of labor, epidural, pitocin, oxygen, in-utero heart rate monitoring and finally an emergency c-section was around $16,000. My second scheduled c-section was $12,000.

If I can remember correctly, it was around
$10,000 without the doctors cost. It crazy how much it is. It always amazes me on how much the "Miscellaneous" column is too. Makes you wonder. But I only had to pay the $15 copay for the pregnancy test. Thank God for good insurance.

Without insurance, a normal vaginal delivery can be a few thousand dollars and alot more if you get fringe benefits or stay a few days.
