In addition to what the person above posted, I know that he was the character model for Samanosuke Akechi in the first and third "Onimusha" games ("Onimusha: Warlords" and "Onimusha 3: Demon Siege").

I First saw him in Executioners...sequel to The Heroic Trio starring Abnitya Mui, Maggie Cheung and Michele Khan...but it was in 'Sleepless Town' that I first noticed him as a good actor(he starred in it)...the story is simple...with a devastating end. After that I kept an eye out for him.
The Returner, Flying Daggers, Chungking Express and Fallen Angels....good stuff...
