Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park - Your Favorite Areas?

My wife and I are visiting this weekend, and I wanted to get some feedback from some people who have actually been here and have a favorite area of the park that they like to visit. The road to Clingman's Dome is closed, so we can't do that, but we'll definitely visit Cades Cove. Anywhere else in the park that we shouldn't miss?

Pigeon Forge motels are cheapest. Don't miss Roaring Fork Motor Trail. Stop at the Sugarlands Visitor Center(on way to Cades Cove) and get map of other motor trails.The hiking trail behind the center is easy walking. Laurel Falls is nice hike.At the Elkmont Campgrounds there is a trail where we have always seen deer.The petting zoo at Sevierville is fun for all ages. Don't miss Old Time Pottery for shopping. Country Tonight is the best musical and Comedy Barn is the funniest. Old Mill , Bennetts Bar-B-Q has fantastic food.Christmas lights are still up. Dollywood is beautiful and has good Christmas shows.

There may be some snow still this weekend.
The park is huge, you won't be able to see everything in one weekend.
Cades Cove is a good start. In that area is Roaring Forks Motor Trail. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are nearby.
Cherokee is mostly tourist traps and a casino.
Asheville is a nice town, lots of artsy stuff, nice old buildings, and Biltmore House.
Beautiful scenery everywhere. Do as much of the Blue Ridge Parkway as possible. (And if it is open)

In Cherokee, NC go to the bear zoo that is in a gift store. If ou are the first one there you get to wake the bears with twinkie. Otherwise you can still feed them apples. Admission is like $2.00 and they have about 30 bears.
