When I wanted to know I researched it on the internet. I had a LV and there are some websites that tell you the differences in the real and fake bags, there is also a book called Real or Fake that is great and has great pics to find out the truth. Different things like color and something being upside down, things you couldn't know without looking it up.

There are many ways.. first and obviously ... the price.. most designer bags are thousands of dollars.. also the type of leather used.. you can clearly tell that a knock off has stiff leather and if you look closely, many imprefections in the fake leather edge. also just the feel of the leather. If the name is on it, like for example the designer Chloe, usually there would be and accent over the "e" if there is not, or if it is spelled differently, you can bet it is a knock off.

Depends on the designer. It has to have the right colors of the logo. Labels inside the bag. the material inside the bag, is it the right color? If the logo is cut off. And it should come with an authentic tag or card if it is real.

all original handbags come with a certificate of authenticity (plastic or cardboard card), some of them like Coach have serial numbers. The only way you can be sure is if you buy it at a well-known store.

It will not have their genuine logo, maybe som fake leather, and the inside usually says the brand name, so check 4 that.

Most designer hand bags have some sort of originality lining, zipper of some sort. If its looks original and cost cheaper what the hell get it

If it doesn't say for example inside the purse -
Louis Vuitton
PARIS
Made in France
and if it has no where on the front of the purse a symbol of that desighner.

How much it costs, and where you buy it are usually good indicators. But if you're not sure, maybe you shouldn't buy it...
