He is hotter than brad Pitt cos Johnny is 43 or 45 and he looks goddamn 30 but Brad's age is starting to tell on him a little bit. Both overrrated actors, but no matter what, i will always think Brad Pitt is taken far to over the limit of overratedness

Johnny Depp is hot!! I think people say he is hotter then Brad because Brad screwed over Jeniffer Aniston and it makes him look bad. Also, Johnny is like a bad boy and that is a major appeal for me!!!

it's that defining personality of his AND he's got looks (in my opinion anyway). a great personality can make even an ugly person hot to some degree! and i also would have to agree with an earlier answer that his acting has a lot to do with it. an actors persona takes them a long way. look at adrian brody or (a younger) sly stallone. many people think they are hot (although their looks tell a different story).
AND to each their own ;o) I love Johnny Depp!

The two movies that made me fall for him were "Don Juan DeMarco" and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". Before I saw those two, I thought his acting was fine but I didn't really find him intriguing. One of the things I really like about him is the fact that he does play such a variety of unusual roles. He gives the impression of being a really interesting, unique kind of guy.
Of course, it's all just a matter of personal taste! You find some people attractive and not others, and there isn't always a rhyme or reason to it.

I've never thought he was "hot". He has a dirty, nasty look that's exceptionally unappealing. Brad Pitt's not "hot" either.

Well, because he is. They are both attractive men but Brad is a pretty boy and Johnny is sexy. I think they are both rather nice to look at.
