I just read an article that stated that the old myth of 7 dog years are equivelent to 1 human year and it stated that since many dogs reach the age of 16 but not many humans reach the age of 112 (16 x 7) then the formula is off, it goes on to say that while dogs are mature by age 2 at the latest then that would mean that humans would be fully mature at 14. A much more realistic formula was stated as for the first 2 human years a dog ages 10 1/2 years each year and then a dog will age 4 years to every regular human year. So, using that formula and the fact that your dog was born in 2000 and that makes her 7 regular years old (on her birthday of course) she would be 21 for the first 2 years and 4 for every year after which is another 5 so another 20. Using the modified formula she is 41 years young in dog years. Using the old 7 year rule she would be 49. And in human years she is 7.
so she's not so "ole" after all.

If she was actually born on the first day of the year 2000 (which wasn't the beginning of the millennium btw 2001 was, it was the end of the last millennium) then now she will be 7 years and 10 days old. Hope that helped.

Actually, a dog's age is determined more by it's breed, health, diet, lifestyle and medical factors more so than in some old-fashioned calculated method. To figure out how old your dog really is, go to the link below. It is very cool and will give you a more accurate age for your dog. Enjoy!

she will be 57 in human years The first year is counted as 15 because they are developed enough to procreate. For every year after that add 7 years.57 may be old for some breeds and depends on the health of the dog.Have a dog gone great year.

well it's now 2007, so she's 7 years old. dog's don't have a calander we do. the 7 human years for a dog's one was only designed so people could understand their pets' age better. it still doesn't change the fact your dog has been on this planet for 7 years.

basic maths show that she is 2007 - 2000 = 7 * 7 = 49 so it will be 50 on 27th of feb. so get it a card.

The calendar I heard recently for a dog's age was 15 years for the first year, then 10 years for their second. Every subsequent year is equal to 3 years. So your dog is... 40! Life begins!
