(Most) arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the cells. (Most) veins carry deoxygenated blood from cells to the heart.
The Pulmonary Artery carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs, and the Pulmonary Vein carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.

the main difference is that the vein carries the blood towards the heart and the artery carries it away from the heart. other differences are that arteries are very muscular and have many elastic fibres on their walls while the veins have very few elastic fibres and thin walls. the artery does not contain any valves except at junctions with the heart while the vein has valves to direct the blood flow towards the heart. the pressure of blood in the artery is higher than in the veins. arteries contain pure blood while veins contain impure blood. the arteries have a small lumen while veins have large lumens. i hope that solves ur question

arterys take blood away from the heart and veins take blood to the heart .Remeber A for away/artery and there is IN in veIN so veins take blood into the heart. Arterys have thicker walls then veins so that they can cope with pressure. Veins have valves in them to prevent backflow of blood.

Arteries are thick walled, and carry oygenated blood away from the heart. Veins are thinner walled, have valves, and carry deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
There's a little exception in the arteries and veins between the heart and lungs, but don't worry about it.

Veins carry blood to the heart where Arteries carry blood away from the heart.
The best way to remember this is that Artery begins with A ,and away begins with A , AAAA Away

A vein carries blood TO the heart and therefore carries blood that does not have oxygen.
An artery carries blood AWAY from the heart and therefore carries blood with oxygen.
Exceptions: Pulmonary arteries carry blood away from the heart to the lungs so that blood does not have oxygen. Pulmonary veins carry blood to the heart from the lungs so that blood is oxygenated.
Arteries have thicker walls due to the power of the heart pumping the blood that is going through them.

Vein - carries de-oxygenated blood to the heart.
Artery - carries oxygenated blood from the heart.
The exceptions are:-
The pulmonary vein which carries blood away from the heart to the lungs, to be re-oxygenated.
The pulmonary artery which carries blood to the heart from the lungs which has been oxygenated.
