Backstage isn't as cool as it might seem unless they're prepared for fans to come backstage. Roadies and stagehands are running about trying to get equipment on or off stage, stage managers are trying to keep their way clear, the dressing rooms are usually packed with people who work for the artists like Managers, hair and makeup people, actualy friends and family of the artists. Many artists even have closed their dressing rooms to anyone outside their inner circles because fans make nuisances of themselves.

You have to either know someone that works with the band or works with the venue where they are playing. You can't just buy backstage passes. Most of the time you will need to have a purpose to be back there, or be friends with the band.

I think that they are more like "meet and greets" now. I won tix over the radio for The Fray w/ the cd and backstage passes. When i went to claim the prize @ the station, the girl said, "oh no, not backstage, only meet and greet" so i'm thinking isn't it the same thing?! Apparently not. But, meet and greet's are just as cool.

I kick myself for this now, but last Fri, we went to the Fall Out Boy concert. I later heard that if you bought the cd as presale at the venue, automatic meet and greet - ugh!

I'm trying for meet and greet's for My Chemical Romance myself - got my eyes and ears wide open!!

Good luck, hope you meet the band you want to meet!! ;)

I would contact the bands manager or even contact the venue where the concert is being held. Ask to speak to the manager of the venue and then put your request to him/her.
