SADDAM HUSSEIN was rushed to the gallows as 2006 ended--a former dictator put to death under instructions from his one-time supporters in the U.S. government.
George W. Bush predictably declared it yet another “milestone” on “Iraq’s course to becoming a democracy.” But Hussein’s hanging exposes--yet again--the corrupt, hypocritical and criminal character of the U.S. war on Iraq.
For years, the U.S. and other Western governments propped up Saddam Hussein. They supported his wars against neighboring countries, and they supported his war on any and all Iraqis who dared to oppose him. Then, Hussein stepped out of line--and he suddenly became reviled in the West as a “modern-day Hitler,” bent on violence and responsible for terrible repression.
Little of this squalid history made it into the mainstream media’s accounts of Hussein’s life.

He was tried by an Iraqi court and executed by the Iraqi government. I do not support the death penalty, but he did kill tens of thousands of his own citizens.

What do you mean "support"? What did the United States do to "support" them, other than keep our noses out of it? And oh, Saddam Hussein is dead, boo-frickin'-hoo. One less drug addicted, womanizing, murderous disgrace for a human being.

if you are too dumb to read anything then your opinions, you would know that the military already was against the Iraqi government putting him to death so soon, because by doing such, the govt. broke a few laws in the process, and feared more violence for breaking those laws.
Why would the military want more soldiers killed?

It's well known that Saddam had the wests support. What they didn't support was his mass murdering and torturing of his own people. Get off of it already. You are only making yourself look bad with this attitude of ignorance.

Saddam replaced into allways going to be got here across responsible and positioned to dying, ever when you consider that they caught him they made a sort to locate him responsible and subsequenty execute him, they could besides of shot him the minute they got here across him. usa and the U.ok dont comprehend that the only thank you to run some muslim international places is by potential of a dictatorship, useful saddam stored a great form of the oil funds and must be fairly brutal at situations, yet now you have have been given 3 waring factions in Iraq, the Sunni Muslims the Shi'ite Muslims, and the Arabs/Kurds who all want the rustic for themselves, so its a three way civil conflict without sign of ending. As cruel because it ought to sound the coalition ought to besides pull out of Iraq and enable them to variety it out for themselves(usa can shop the oil fields, thats all they actually needed). I propose on the minute the coalition forces are merely getting in the way, and being shot at. in case you question me saddam replaced into the lesser of two evils, the only reason Bush needed him out replaced into because of the fact saddam threatened to start advertising his oil in EURO's rather of the dollar, and usa cant print euro's!!
