I am 15 years old and much shorter than everyone in my family. I developed bulimia right before turning 13 and it slowed my growth to an inch per year. In order to reach my mid parent height I have to grow 2 inches, but I would be happy with just one more inch! did my ED stunt my growth, would I have had a growth spurt during that time, or was my growth just supposed to slow? I have never had a period. I am recovering now and I really want to be as tall as the rest of my family.

I would go to the Dr, and let him tell you about your height. There is a test where they can tell if you are still growing or not. Good luck.

Because you had bulimia, your body fat percentage might be extremely low and if that is the case than that might be the reason for not having your period yet. Another possibility for not having your period might be that your hormone levels have not peeked and when they do than you should have a growth spurt. When I had my first period 4 years ago the fallowing month I have had a 6 inch growth spurt and 6 months later I had another growth spurt of 6 inches. Now my growth spurts are about 1 inch. I just depends on family genes or your weight ( bodyfat %). Ask a maternal person in your family when their Period started and that might help you figure out when yours should start. Between the ages of 11 and 17 you should start having periods. I hope that this is helpful.

I know about one guy who suffered from anorexia from the age of 12 and at the age of 15 was much shorter than a normal 15 year old. He aslo looked much younger. It was a consequence of not getting enought nutrients. You should take some calcium supplements to help your bones grow stronger. It will take some time for your body to recover, I hope the damage is not too serious. You must consult your GP!
