They cannot tell at all unless YOU tell them. Most girls nowadays do not have a hymen - they break it usually during rough sports or other activities, so a doctor (or anyone else) cannot base your virginity on the appearance of your hymen.

FYI: The hymen is a ring of tissue that is inside the vagina and used to be used as a gauge as to whether a girl was a virgin or not. It is sometimes present and breaks during the initial attempt at sexual intercourse, but like I said above, it is usually broken before that time these days as girls are so much more active than they used to be.

They can't tell for sure because your hymen becomes elastic after puberty. This is supposedly why a hymen inspection is not conclusive evidence as to your virginity. I was told that mine was most likely torn from hard physical activity. I was a competitive figure skater for 10 years. However, some doctors now say that this is a myth. I'm no expert. Attached are some references.

The only way to physically know is if you still have your hymen, the hymen is a thin tissue that brakes when you have penetrations, now it's not a rule, sometimes it never was there, and it can break if you fall on your buttocks for example... it's not trustworthy. It's the only way a doctor would know.

Virginity is lost officially when you have sex for the first time. However physically woman have a hymen just inside the vagina which breaks when youhave sex. However it can break for other reasons too. A doctor can tell if the hymen is broken but this is not going to prove 100% that you have had sex.

usually the only way to know is if your hymen is still intact but that is not fool proof because if you use tampons or are really athletic you have probably already tore it. Most doctors just take your word for it.

In most cases, a doctor cannot tell for sure whether a girl is a virgin or not. He/she would only know if you tell them.

They only know if you tell them. Don't believe someone who tells you otherwise. The hymen can br broken by using tampons, playing sports etc.

They can't tell for sure. I was a virgin before I was married and the doctor did not believe me.

They ask and if he/she is giving you a pelvic exam they may check to see it the hyman is intact. The hyman is not a dead giveaway though.
