I am a huge smallville fan. I own seasons 1-5 on dvd. I love the way they have paid tribute to the old superman movies. I actually enjoy Smallville better than I did the new Superman movie. I can't pick just one fav. character, I love them all, although I do get a bit sick of Lana, sometimes I wanna call it Lanaville.

Chloe, she is the one who seems to grow the most emotionally, and possible because she isn't restricted by any ones expectations, and Chloe was created specifically for the series, while everyone else has appears somewhere else and has been shaped by countless artists, writers and actors, Chloe is the product of this actress and these writers, she does not have any prior mythology to which she must aspire to or aim for.
As good as Tom's Clark, Michael's Lex, Kristen's Lana are, they have been done before, and can be weighed against other actor's interpretations. Clearly Tom plays Clark at a stage not depicted at any great length before, five minutes in Returns, 20 in the 1978 film, and 2 or three in the animated series Pilot. The only other actors to come close were Newton, and Christopher in Superboy, and that was technically a College CK, leading the double life already. yet because it is Clark he as all of those measuring sticks that people can use to beat him with.
While I enjoy his work in SV, Allison Mack as Chloe has the most freedom with her character, and she runs with it. Showing the pain and agony of unrequited love, and the strain of keeping his secret. all while still keeping her away from the cliche 'emotional screw up' often found in teen dramas

My favorite characters are actually Louis and Chloe...I think these characters are really great but they keep focusing on Clark and Lona...

I like Lois (because she's so funny) and Lex (now that he's turning evil!) and Clark (because he's Clark!!).
Lana irritates me. She gets knocked out in one fell swoop everytime she appears in an episode!
