just try to meditate while they are lecturing....you can meditate on your breathing while still keeping your eyes on the professor. as hard as it is you need to learn discipline. mediation might help calm your desires to put your attention on your friends...and help you focus on the professor's lecture. if your professor is boring then there is nothing wrong with you, you shouldn't see a doctor. if your mind wanders focus on your breathing and meditate. i have had the same problem since i was a child, trust me if you can learn this method early it helps for college....the most boring professors are in college...blah

good luck

It doesn't sound like there's anything really wrong with you. For most people, it's natural to want to talk to others. Although talking when you should be paying attention to something can be a bit of a problem, and you will need to work on your ability to focus on things.

You know yourself better than I do, so you will know more about specific things that distract you and how to work on your self-control. You could also pay a visit to a therapist, who would be able to give you more insight into this and other, practical ways that you could deal with this. Also, if you can, try to talk to your teachers about this too. Teachers are paid to give you the best education they can, and if there are any barriers to that then they should try to help you solve the problem.

Well, I think the main thing is a maturity issue. You have to realize your education is going to be a very important thing in life. If your friends are talking to you, respond by saying we will talk at lunch or between classes or even after school, but while in class, pay respect to the teacher.

Also, you may want to be tested for ADD. If you fidget, or even doodle a lot, ask your doctor about it.

Reduce all small talk... and only talk when you feel very very necessary to, and just smile if feel like you have to say something
