Why do so many people think it's okay for Bush to ignore the wishes of the American people and do what only HE feels is right? Is America no longer a democracy? Do these people want to live in a totalitarian dictatorship?

slodana2003 - I'm very sorry to hear that you would waste a vote like that on someone who very clearly does not understand nor care what this country is, has been and could be.

Leadership is not about winning a pissing war. Leadership is about knowing when to set aside your personal feelings and think and act globally.

Precipitously invading a sovereign nation without first forming a cohesive and executable plan is NOT leadership. It's childish knee-jerk reaction.

to paraphrase Ben Franklin-
"Democracy is two lions and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch..."

This would be one of the few things that I would stand on the side of this president. It is his decision (right or wrong). But- he needs to build the support and following for his policies (right or wrong).

not that I agree with sending in more troops to Iraq.

To the idiot who posted before me: Not a democracy? Really? That's interesting.

And no one says that Bush is doing what YOU think is right. The person said something about Bush doing what HE thinks is right. Try to read, okay?

He does what he thinks is right as a leader. If he were a good leader with experience you could understand his views but he makes snap decisions and plays with peoples lives so its hard to take him seriously.

He won re-election by over 3 million votes and he doesn't flip-flop just because the media tries to convince the American people that there are no terrorists. I voted for him and would proudly do it again.

America is not a democracy, it is a republic. It has never been a democracy. So, I am not sure if I even understand your question.

Bush is doing what I think is right, so you lost me there also...
