they robbed and raped them, spread disease and deceit, completely erradicated many tribes...meanwhile the natives were basically inept to fight against them, as the europeans had horses, guns and body armor
i HIGHLY recommend you reading Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs & Steel...this will more than answer your question, and it is an interesting and quick read

the 500 Nations who were here were decimated by the European
" invasion. " the Europeans kept only one treaty with the Indigenous People which was " we see what you have and we want it and so we are going to take it. "

Europeans wiped out ****.
Deliberate infection?
"One of the most contentious issues relating to disease and depopulation in the Americas concerns the degree to which American indigenous peoples were intentionally infected with diseases such as smallpox. Despite some legends to the contrary, there seems to be no evidence that the Spanish ever attempted to deliberately infect the American natives"
Hear that? NO EVIDENCE
It was NOT deliberate that Indians were dying by being in contact with Europeans
And for the Small Pox Myth
"A number of recent scholars have noted that evidence for connecting the blanket incident with the smallpox outbreak is doubtful, and that the disease was more likely spread by native warriors returning from attacks on infected white settlements"
Hear that? Racist Indians, who were trying to kill the tiny amount of Whites by invading their settlements, were the ones who spread the diseases that left millions of Indians dead.
THERE WAS NEVER NO DELIBERATE GENOCIDE AGIANST THE INDIANS.
Contributing Factors why Indians were dying in such mass
"Native American medical treatments such as sweat baths and cold water immersion (practiced in some areas) weakened patients and probably increased mortality rates"
and
"Europeans brought so many deadly diseases with them because they had many more domesticated animals than the Native Americans. Domestication usually means close and frequent contact between animals and people, which is an opportunity for diseases of domestic animals to mutate and migrate into the human population."
Do you honestly believe such a small amount of White settlers could wipe out the Indians?
How can that even be remotely possible 5 hundred years ago
THE REASON WHY INDAINS WERE SUPPOSEDLY BEING "WIPED" OUT WAS BECUASE OF THEIR WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM
Dogs, horses and other animals Whites carried around with them were most likely the ones who accidentally infected the Indians and the ones who brought whatever diseases that came to the New World. Since the diseases brought over were once common in Europe, both the animals and the Whites had gotten immune to it. How could Whites know the animals were carrying any harmful bacteria if both the Whites and the animals were now immune from the effects? And without visual signs of disease, there was no way for Whites to determine that the animals were infected.
IT WAS NOT DELIBERATE!
Also:
“the colonists spared women, children, and the elderly, further contradicting the idea of genocidal intention”
One of the few times Whites ever deliberately tried to kill some Indians were in desperate situations like this:
“During Pontiac's Rebellion in 1763, a number of Native Americans launched a widespread war against British soldiers and settlers in an attempt to drive the British out of the Great Lakes region. In what is now western Pennsylvania, Native Americans (primarily Delawares) laid siege to Fort Pitt on June 22, 1763. Surrounded and isolated, and with over 200 women and children in the fort.”
Racist Indians were NOT peaceful or kind in the slightest
“Fifty-two of New England’s 90 towns were attacked, seventeen were razed to the ground, and 25 were pillaged”
Indians fought like cowards:
“At its outset, a colonial council in Boston had declared "that none be Killed or Wounded that are Willing to surrender themselves into Custody." But these rules were soon abandoned on the grounds that the Indians themselves, failing to adhere either to the laws of war or to the law of nature, would "skulk" behind trees, rocks, and bushes rather than appear openly to do "civilized" battle. Similarly creating a desire for retribution were the cruelties perpetrated by Indians when ambushing English troops or overrunning strongholds housing women and children.”
The Killing of Indians by Whites didn’t go unpunished in Britain
“Before long, both colonists and Indians were dismembering corpses and displaying body parts and heads on poles. (Nevertheless, Indians could not be killed with impunity. In the summer of 1676, four men were tried in Boston for the brutal murder of three squaws and three Indian children; all were found guilty and two were executed.)”
Since Whites were outnumbered a million to one and they were being waged war against by the racist Indians, who had problems with just a few hundred whites living with their families along the shore in the new world, what do you expect would happen?
What would you do if you were outnumbered and the Indians were coming directly to kill your women and children? Would you stand by and let them die?
Hell no fool.
Of course the Whites would fight back which would result in a number of killings of Indians
Big deal, that’s life.
Whites did what they had to do to survive
“Here, too, genocidal intent was far from evident; the practices were justified on grounds of self-preservation and revenge, and in reprisal for the extensive scalping carried out by Indians.”
In conclusion
“The crucial role played by intentionality in the Genocide Convention means that under its terms the huge number of Indian deaths from epidemics cannot be considered genocide. The lethal diseases were introduced inadvertently, and the Europeans cannot be blamed for their ignorance of what medical science would discover only centuries later. Similarly, military engagements that led to the death of noncombatants, like the battle of the Washita, cannot be seen as genocidal acts, for the loss of innocent life was not intended and the soldiers did not aim at the destruction of the Indians as a defined group”
So you can blow your anti-European biased, militant Indian, comments up your ***
