I see I'm not the only one who has noticed that about Caillou. He gets on my nerves. When my daughter is watching it, I tell her what I would do if she said and did the things that he does. She doesn't, but I let her know anyway. As long as your sister isn't reenacting any of his bad behavior, then you should let her be happy and watch it.

I despise Caillou. He IS a brat and you're right, he doesn't teach anything but brattiness.

How about distracting her when the show comes on? When it's almost time for Caillou to air, take her outside to play or invite her to some non-television activity. I have a three-year-old daughter and that's what I do when I don't want her to watch TV. Not only will she find other interests, but you two might have a lot of fun together. Little sisters always want to be in on what their older siblings are doing, so you can take this opportunity to show her that there are better, more interesting things to do than watch television.

unfortunately you can't. kids are very set in their ways when it comes to television and music. they like what they like. but take solace in the fact that kids also go through stages. this is your sister's "caillou stage". pretty soon your sis will grow out of it, or find something else that will peak her interest, and caillou will be but a memory. trust me, i have two boys (7 & 5), and i can't name you how many stages they've been through. caillou was one of them. they grew out of it.

i would recommend sitting with your sister while she is watching it and explain to her the caillou is being a brat, and that it's not the way to behave. she'll get the message.

not every television show should teach you about things. sometimes they can just be watched for fun.
