emulation on a DS is nearly impossible because of the hardware restrictions
as far as emulating a DS game, that'd be very tricky to do as well because many of the games rely on the touch screen as part of the input/output, so I doubt there is one. There are very creative people out there who may come up with one given more time though...

You can go there and type in your zip code, and see the number of units that will be released in your local stores - mostly walmart, target, ebgames, toysrus, ect...
It's looking pretty good (looking more like 50 than 100 in my area), but at the same time, the holidays are coming fast, and people get pretty rabid about shopping at this time of year - I'd be concerned with insane parents fighting over the inexpensive new video game system.
