but im stuck on this:

what are the native americans ...r they the plains indians or the north west coast indians?

They are Indians of all kinds, places, and tribes. The name Indians comes from the belief of Christopher Columbus that he had gone round the world and come to India. So Indians have preferred the name "native Americans," meaning they were here first, originally. It's something like saying African Americans today, where white people said ****** yesterday.

they are the Indigenous People of over 500 tribes who inhabited Turtle Island ( now the United States )
