Alright, it is something I have been wondering about for quite a long time. {I'm fourteen, by the way.}

Why is it we live in this day and age? Why weren't we born earlier, or later?

Many people say they would have fit in better in the future, or in this or that age.

Why were we chosen to be the ones to live in this... Not exactly perfect, not by a long shot, but why were we allowed to live in this improved version of our world?

Why are we chosen to be in here, with so many others?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but it's always made me wonder...

[If it was asked before, I didn't really find it, so I opted to ask it myself.]

Each person is a product of their environment and genetics. Cell memory accounts for a portion of it but mainly we become what we take in through our senses of what is around us. Thus we wish, because what we've learned to be appeals to our conscious minds to fit better in that situation than in the one we're presently in. But truly all things are perfect, or else they would not be the way they are. In a world where anything is possible, on a basic fundamental universe, what could be imperfect. The universe by it's own design was made exactly this way. Eating and Reproducing. Simply our ways to sustain our lines, for whatever reason that the universe has hardwired into us. we function almost as though just advanced bacteria perhaps. And you know how bacteria functions. It's only when you put thing truly into such a perspective that you begin to be able to answer the questions that seem very large.

I'm 18 and I've never wondered why I was born in this age but I have wondered what life would be like if I was born in another time period, to be frank, as bad as the world seems to be, I wouldn't want to be born in any other era, this one is really interesting, and it feels like we're at thee beginning of the fall of man

I might just tell myself I like this time period just as satisfaction of something I can't change, but I really do find things to be really interesting, we've come to the point where cloned meat may be available in the market, and the japanese already made their first android

but then again, I love science and i might just be excited by an interest and not the whole of the reality of the world

Our brains are capable of asking certain questions that have no simple answer. We wonder if things exist if we are not there to observe them, we wonder why our personalities are ours and not someone else's, why were were born when we were, etc... We are capable of killing ourselves over these questions. They simply have no answer. The fault in our brains is that we can't find an answer to a question we can ask.

Monkeys, dogs, fleas, lions, etc... don't sit around wondering why they are here, what their purpose is, etc... We do. How ironic that we are looking so hard for something that isn't there and actually stop living b/c of it. Just b/c we have big brains doesn't mean we have some cosmic purpose. I assure you we don't.

I'm already here and grateful, thankful, and blessed to live in a day and age where there's running water, showers, toilets, soap, accessible perfumes (perfumes were only for the rich), technology, etc.

I've always wondered about living in another time and place, but happy to be alive...NOW!

Because your mum and dad loved each other.
and they were able to do so because their mum and dad loved each other in their times too. and it goes on like this upto...i don't know...adam and eve?

and why YOU were born out of your mum and dad and not out of somebody else in the fifties? well, when your genetic code is broken down, the best match that fits the component parts of your code come from your mum and dad.

and why do YOU have to have that specific genetic code...well i guess there must be a big guy up there who is doing all the encoding...

think of it this way, if you had choice what would you do,
what if you were asked at which particular era you like to be born
who would be your parents, etc, but you dont know the consequences for your choice ,will you be happy or not ,what would that be like.
what if all people wnted to be born in the same time ,with siilar characters, pefct and happy.
i think if we had choice , it will be a great mess.

I think that we have been born and reborn at different times. I think each person has a reason why they are in each time. There could be many reasons or just one.

Not a stupid question at all, but form my personal view I don't think there is a reason why here and now.

Just random chance.
