For me it has to be the bass guitar. I'm learning to play one at the moment and it is the most wonderful and useful instrument- you can play anything from classical bass to jazz and metal music. It is also capable of playing some of the greatest sounds known to music- bass solos are highly impressive and quite funky. Many musicians do not realise the value of the bass guitar. You can also pick up cello and double bass quite easily as well if you're a good bassist.
I also like the drums- teamed with a good bassist it can sound brilliant.

The organ... Especially the enormous concert versions with 64' pipes that you occasionally find in England's larger cathedrals and concert halls.

They can inspire a range of emotions from supreme joy at being alive, to the exciting thrill of a good horror soundtrack. They are incredibly versatile, with stops for every occasion and, when the pedals are used too, they can quite literally take your breath away and produce some lovely juicy rich vibrating chords.

Sadly, I'm not sufficiently nimble-fingered or footed to play myself, but love watching others do so.

For reference, listen to two pieces of music - one: 'To the Shock of Miss Louise' performed by Thomas Newman on the Lost Boys soundtrack; the other one, Sortie in E Flat by a composer called Lefebure-Wely... Both fine pieces, but totally different in character. Enjoy!

Would have to be the guitar, you can make it (if you can play it that is..) sound really gentle or heavy as f**k and everything in between so you can always find something to suit your mood. In the right hands it can sound awesome and nothing like a guitar at all. Would we even have popular music as we know it without the guitar?

The saxophone- because I play it. Also because Marilyn Monroe famously said in "Some Guys Like it hot", "I always fall in love with a saxophone player!"
