She's an American politician. She's not interested in true democracy. She's for manipulating the legislative process to push her own agendas on everybody who doesn't believe like she does. Democrats and Republicans alike are ideological tyrants and would rather see you in prison than enjoying a freedom they don't like. Sieg friggin' Heil.

In many places smoking is banned by OSHA because second hand smoke makes for an unhealthy work place. I'm surprised smoking wasn't already banned near the House floor. It is a workplace for Capitol workers.

Interestingly, cigarettes are the only consumer product on the market today that have been proven to be lethal when used according to the manufacturer's directions. Additionally, cigarettes are the only consumer product on the market today to proven to be collatorally lethal when used according to the manufacturer's directions.

I'm all for freedom of choice and personal responsibility, however, when it comes to smoking, I can not understand, a) why someone would continue to choose to smoke know the lethality of smoking, and b) why anyone would defend the right to smoke in a public arena.

I am not a supporter of Nancy Pelosi, but I agree with her on this issue.

Well I do think it should have gone to a vote, however I think it should be banned everywhere inside. I like how smokers get pissed off and say it is their right to, but what about everyone elses right not to breathe in something proven to cause cancer?

Smoking is banned in all federal buildings. Sounds like she's just setting things straight in the capital building. I love it!

They can go outside like everyone else.

Yes well, liberals like to say they are all for "personal liberties and freedoms" but its a sham. Anyone who examines liberal ideology and policy for a moment can see they are lying. They want to ban smoking. They want to ban transfatty foods. The list goes on and on. Barbara Boxer and Rob Rheiner are other good examples. She should have put it to a vote. And for the party who supports individual freedoms, the stifling of smokers surely doesn't make people more "free".
