Dude, go for it!
I'd do it, the aim is to touch a bull, get a nice white shirt and a red hat or scarf. Roll up a newspaper, they use it to smack the bull.
The real danger is from other people, they will be the ones to put you in harm's way by cutting you off or forcing you down. Also be sure you shoes have high grip soles, the cobblestone is very slick. The corners are the most dangerous part of the course, most incidents occur there. Save the drinking until after the running, no pre-night partying, although a moderate ammount of booze before hand would be recommended, the old "Dutch Courage."

It´s a thrilling experience and everyone´s happy and cheerful. The Spaniards are very welcoming and funny. A lot of drinking goes on as well and carrying on. The party still continues well into the night at all the different little bars and there´s a great party atmosphere. However I don´t recommend you taking part in the running. The Spanish know what they´re doing and have been doing it for a long time. It´s usually the tourists who run in front of the bulls who end up badly injured.

Do not run with the bulls. It is too dangerous and too difficult for you to control.
