The HP computer you have is a good computer. these are some stuff I might do if I was in your shoes. Run Disk Defragmenter and Disk cleanup because it would clear up some unwanted files. Also If you have an antivirus program do a full system scan. With your computer you might hae gotten a restore disk, it restores everything new into your computer as it was when you bought it. If your are worriied about losing data save it on to a flash drive.

The first thng I would do , is check for spyware. Here is 2 scans tat are free and safe to use.
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Music isn't going to slow your computer down - unless you have used up every last bit of disk space. How much data you have doesn't affect performance.
You might have installed lots of Windows malware. Clean it all out using whatever anti-virus software you have by running a full scan.
Run a defrag.
If that doesn't help, your best bet is to re-install Microsoft Windows.

Open Task Manager and go to the Performance tab. Check your Available Physical Memory...if it looks low, you need to buy more RAM. Also, make sure you are not running low on hard drive space.
