Try Bob Marley (Sublime, Everlast), Peter Tosh- both great reggea (Tosh use to play with Marley when they first started).
Also try bands like Death From Above 1979, Queens of The Stone Age, Nirvana, The Melvins... Kinda heavy groove bands.
If you like Blue Rodeo- check out (of course!) Neil Young, The Jayhawks, Nick Drake, Greatful Dead, Willie Nelson.
Never forget Crosby, Stills Nash and young.
Also, check out Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Rusty, White Stripes, Tragically Hip (older stuff!!!), Muddy Waters, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, Pixies, Guns n Roses, Sonic Youth, Hayden, Holly McNarland, The Inbreds
