It would be a great thing to go to the dr with her! She might need a support person and you sound like the perfect person for her. Does she have a boyfriend? If so, that is usually who would go with her, but maybe she is scared and thinks you are more comfortable to be with at the first appointment. Also, you dont have to be in the room with her at all times (like for the pap check) Just step outside the room when its time. You might become the godmother someday and this would be a great experience for you when you decide to have kids of your own! There is a lot you can learn from this! She obviously wants your support and it cant hurt to be there for her. I'm sure you must be a great friend! Also, this would be a great time for you to be there to ask questions of your own that may arise about pregnancy.

She might ask you, but how do will that make you feel. I know being pregnant single is hard. But if you cant handle it tell her honestly that you feel uncomfortable with going to the doctor but if you want to go get something to eat or need a shoulder to cry on you will be there.
Good Luck to you and your Friend.

You didn't give much information. Do you not want to go? Why not? If you're concerned about it being weird or seeing her "parts", they usually only do an internal exam during the first visit. You could always leave the room during that part and be there for the parts where she keeps her clothes on. Or you could go with her and just stay in the waiting room. She probably just wants you there for moral support. Go for it, but maybe mention to her ahead of time what, exactly, you're not comfortable with so that she understands when you want to leave.

If you were in her shape would you want a good friend to go with you. Of course you would. Friends are there for each other no matter what might come up. You might even the one of the first one to see the baby on the sonagram. That would be so cool.

Then go with her to the doctor. There is nothing wrong with that. She is your best friend and needs your support.

Go with her. She probably needs emotional support right now. (cuz it sounds like she doesn't have a supporting boyfriend/significant other to help her along). Besides, why wouldn't you want to go? It's not going to take up your whole day and it's good to be there for your friends.

Go with her. Sounds like she really needs someone by her side to make it through, like a best friend.
