The IRS isn't accepting any returns filed electronically until January 12th. You can start filing them as soon as you get your W-2's though.

You can file with your last paystubs as long as the tax preparer can find your EIN numbers.The IRS is starting to accept the e-filing on the 12th. Visit www.shaydzofluv.com for a free estimate. I know they can do it with your last paystub.

January 1st - or as soon as you get your W2. Employers have until January 31st to give you your W2, and many wait until the last minute to do it.
