http://www.breasthealthonline.com was an EXCELLENT help with my breast reduction surgery experience. Make sure you take 1-2 weeks off of work and NO MAJOR lifting for about a month. Scars and final breast size will take ONE YEAR to finally come back to "normal". Buy some "arnica montana" (tiny little pills) from amazon.com, they helped me immensely with swelling and bruising. Unlike the first answerer, I had zero pain, it was more of an uncomfortable feeling every now and then. There is a TON of information on that site, check it out (or email me!).

good luck!

I had mine done when I was 18 years old. That was 20 years ago so I;m sure technology has advanced much since then. I had an amazing sergeon, but with no personality. This made me very scared, but all turned out BEAUTIFULLY!

I was a DDD and went down to a small C large B. I lost 4 lbs in breast tissue alone. My operation was 14 hours long and the anethesia can do a number on your mind, but not too worry--it will only last the first hour after you wake. The pain is bad, but only for the first couple of days (I may be lieing to you), then is teeters off to a soarness. It is very IMPORTANT that you follow all self-care instruction to a T to prevent infections.

My #1 advice to you is do all you can to prevent scaring. I was given these silicon strips. They look like gift wrapping tape but 1/4 inch thick of clear gel. I placed these strips between the insicions marks and my bra's underwire cup for a few months. The pressure and gel pushes the skin in to prevent kiloid scars and lightens the incision areas. Buy some products for scars like aloe vera and use them as soon as the Doc says okay.

My roommate in college had a breast reduction too. Our operations looked liked night and day. My scars are barly visable today, while my roomate has many lups and bumps.

I am very happy I got that load off my chest and it motivated me to loose a lot of extra weright else where. You WILL be in shock the first time you see your new self, but with each day as you heel you will say THANK GOODNESS! I should have done that years ago!

Breast Reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
