Take it, because I know how acid reflux is when you are pregnant, ESPECIALLY near the end! It only gets worse!
I would just ask a pharmacist what dose would work best for pregnancy indigestion. Pharmacists know what they're talking about - they won't steer you wrong, especially if you tell the pharmacist that your doctor said "over the counter".
I didn't take anything for my acid reflux, but chewing gum, eating an apple, and MILKSHAKES helped keep my acid reflux to a minimum. Sounds crazy, right? Well, they all worked, especially the milkshakes. These were all remedies my mom had in a book some where . . .
Good luck, hon. And congratulations on your little one! :) Feel better soon and enjoy the last couple weeks you have left!

I just take Tums and they work great. 3 large tablets is the max you can take in a day, but that works .. one after dinner and one before bed is usually all I'll need if i need it at all.
I think you'd be better off asking the parmacyst, they know everything about this kind of stuff... more so then the doctor would
With my first pregnancy i had my fam doc perscribe me a cough medicine and the pharmacyst wouldn't fill it because it had a decongestant in it and he said decongestants are NO NO when you're pregnant... a quick call to the doc got me confirmation, an apology and a perscription for another brand without.
Talk to the pharmacyst, he'll know what you can and can't take and what's best when your pregnant :)
Good Luck

Mylanta or tums, and do everything you can o not lay down flat. I also has heart burn terrible when pregnant, it stopped by 30 weeks though. I slept in the recliner or propped on the couch because laying down causes the acid to creep up in your throat and chest worse.

I've been taking 1 pecid complete whenever I get bad indigestion or acid reflux (which seems like I get all the time).
It really helps and seems to provide relief for a decent amount of time.

I used Mylanta tablets when I was pregnant with my twins (2002). They seemed to work well, so I didn't really try anything else.

Take the lowest dose and see if that works. And don't feel bad about calling the doctors office. That's what your paying them for.

id say stick with tums or Rolaids to be safe. if your Dr says you can take the other stuff i doubt it would hurt, but with tums you know most women have taken that at one point or another without a problem.
