I think you should name after one or the other. Its possible you will have more than this child and you can use the other parent next time. Also, Is Jay the middle name or is it going to be a 2 name first name then middle name then last name. If your adding a middle name be careful.
I think its one of thoughs names that will either work really well or be a disaster. Depending of what its being paired with.

I like both names, but not together. I also prefer Ally (assuming this is a girl's name). Both would sound better paired with a longer name.
example: Alissa Jay, Alan Jay
ps: I really like middle names that are family names - why not choose Alamar or James as the middle name??

Yes- it is a unique name, but not too unique to be way out there. YOu should definitely go for it!! Ali is a very nice name, and JAy adds some style and sentiment.

yea it all depends on if its a girl or boy. i would assume girl since ali is the first name and its after your mom. I think its cute and its sentimental!
