Some do. It's not the employers exactly - it's whether the employers make them available online via the IRS.

If you use Turbo Tax, you can input the employer ID number, along with your social, and if your employer has it electronically available through IRS, Turbo Tax will find it and download it.

You might be able to go directly to IRS, but I don't know, haven't tried.

Nowadays, employers are putting pay stubs and W2's on line. It gives time back to the employer and is a benefit for the employee. If your employer isn't investing in technology like this, I would recommend you look for a company that does.

Some are. Walmart is. You'll need to speak to some in payroll or human resources to find out if your employer is offering this service.
