The recipient doesn't have a Paypal account and I'm loathed to give any account details of mine away online. I'm therefore wondering how to go about sending the payment via post. Any help would be very welcome.

If you're going to mail it, I would send an international money order in US Dollars.

If you want it there faster, try something like Western Union - they do instant money transfers, like Paypal - you can either go to a place who has Western Union or I think you can do it online now, but the person goes to pick up the money.

Does the recipient not want a PayPal account or just doesn't have one? If it's a matter of setting one up, that's the easiest way to go. There's Bidpay.com. You also might be able to go to the bank and get a bank check, although there might be a fee involved.
