I've been horrified and fascinated by it since I was a kid. I always looked at it from the Jewish side and always thought about what it would have been like to have gone through that. (I used to wish I was Jewish for awhile too) I don't think you're abnormal but maybe it's because I'm the same way.
I turned a lot of it around and sometimes it helps me, in a stupid way. If I'm outside in 10 degree weather, I think of Holocaust victims standing outside wet, naked and freezing for 20 hours at a time and it makes me remember that I don't have it so bad because at least I have a coat, etc.. It makes an ice cold shower seem a little more bearable. Things like that. Reading and learning about terrible things makes you think more about life and how you should appreciate what you have more. -It's good to remember the past, it can help keep things like that from happening again.
I also used to be obsessed with any graphic serial killer book, photos of dead bodies, anything 'disturbing'.

Eveyone has there own type of horror that fascinates them. Some people thrive to hear about sexual crime and obsess about it. Some people obsess over horror films. Some people like to hear about morbid killings. Some people like to hear about deep scandals. Just look at the TV today CSI's, Law and Order's, Dateline. What do they all have in common? Then look at what is all over the news and tabloids. I don't think people are fascinated about these things because they like the way it makes them feel, I think it's more because they don't understand the evil behind it all. Some even can identify themselves in the victim aspect of these horrors. So I don't think you are alone, this is just the horror that intrigues you. I guess all you need to find out is "what about this intrigues you?" It may be because of your intellectual level. It isn't a simple crime!

Although many atrocities occurred during Hitler's reign, it is quite fascinating how he was able to gain the trust and allegiance of such a large group of, as you have described, intelligent people. With that said, I don't think it is strange of you to want to learn about this particular time in history. Besides, isn't it normal for humans to be fascinated with things that seem impossible and/or things that they cannot understand? (In this case, total domination of an entire group of people by one man.) I think so.

I think it's pretty normal. It's kind of along the same lines as people wanting to see the remains of a car accident, or following an ambulance, or fire truck. It's morbid, yes, but it seems to be part of the human nature.
Also, you aren't on your own. People have studied the Germans in WWII for ages, in hopes of discovering why it happened. That's partly how we end up with so much information.

You are fascinated by it because it did not directly affect you. You did not experience it first hand. Keep reading and you will soon find out that these things happened to real people. Then the fascination will wear off.

WCW had WWE with information from the throats, yet their memories were in accordance with week to week, and 1/2 the time the wrestlers might want to flow available and wing it. They compelled WWE to flow stay, if it weren't for stone chilly and the rock, and time warner, wwe might want to be shown on the nutrition community.

How would you like to be hunted to be squished in a box car on your way to be put in an oven or have evil doctors do experiments on you? From that perspective I find it quite evil.
