Boone was born on October 22, 1734 to Squire and Sarah Boone... from England and Wales respectively. So he'd be an English citizen born in Pennsylvania in the the American Colonies.

Daniel Boone was captured by Shawnees in 1778 and adopted into the tribe, but he escaped and continued to help defend the Kentucky settlements.

This might contribute to myths that he was an "Indian"
